Business Correspondence

Introduction

This assignment involves writing a series of three business messages  in various formats pertaining to three different realistic scenarios that you will create. While you will have creative license to create the different scenarios, the three required types of messages are: positive message, negative message, and persuasive message. Please see the corresponding chapters in our text for more information.

Instructions

Use the process of planning, writing, and completing the messages to fulfill the  assignment, and carefully consider your purpose and audience for each message.  Put yourself in the place of the reader to help decide your approach and the best  way to inform and influence the reader. Use the suggestions in the chapters we  have covered so far to prepare the most effective documents.

Messages should be as long as necessary to accomplish the required purposes, but each is expected to have a length of between one to two pages.

You will be expected to budget your time to complete these assignments.  Part of the assignment will involve creating a scenario with to address  the particular kind of message being written. Each person will create the  necessary details to complete the message.

For each of the three message types, there is a corresponding “worksheet’ that must be created to help you plan the message. You will submit a total of three worksheets (one for each message type) before submitting a full length draft for peer review.

We will have one peer review assignment in which all three documents will be submitted. Peer reviewers will consider the documents separately to decide if each meets its specific criteria.

Submission

You will submit this assignment in three parts:

Worksheets-The worksheets will be submitted  to our class Google Drive folder. Please be sure you have submitted your document in the correct folder, and that the names of all group members are on the document. Please note that there are “master” copies of the worksheets in the class folder. Please make a copy for yourself and fill it in using your own name and worksheet number in the document title. Ex. C.Stice Worksheet #1.

Draft— A draft will be submitted to our class Google Drive folder. Please be sure you have submitted your document in the correct folder, and that the names of all group members are on the document. You can post a link to the presentation draft directly in the document of the written draft. You will then receive feedback from members of our cohort.

Final— Please submit the final versions of each of the three letters together as a single blog post on your WordPress site.
