Week 4 forum post on Microsoft

Now, normally I like Apple laptops, they are oddly enough one of the best Windows laptops out there and I also like the Mac OS.   But the Surface line of tablets are very intriguing products.   The website I used is: https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Surface-Pro-3/productID.300190600 and has several different styles of writing in one, which makes this page very effective.

The page starts off with the partition pattern layout, which lists off features of the tablet and how they can be used in day to day work.   Using all the pictures and the good examples of how to use it is essential since this is a very different kind of tablet.   Apple actually just released a competing product with their ipad pro, but the Surface actually uses a real desktop operating system.   With many competitors popping up you need to show why yours is different and these real world examples are effective.

The page changes to a comparison and contrast layout style.   Even though there is only 2 main types of the tablet they are for very different audiences so the comparison is still a good layout.   You don’t need a comparison for the different storage or memory options, they focused on the different processors which make a bigger difference for your application.

After the tech specs section there is a problems-methods-solutions layout to answer questions, which is handy when people are figuring out why they need a new class of device.   I have one of the Surface Pro 2 tablets, and it’s not an exact replacement for a laptop though it is very handy and portable.   Many people still have questions about tablets of every kind, and this is no exception.   Real life answers help people figure out how they can be used and how they can fit into their lifestyle.

Overall Microsoft has been recreating a large amount of their website for usability and to get info to you more easily.
